Consultations

Kathleen Nadeau is available for consultations with individuals within the US or abroad, by phone or in person.  She has provided consultations for many people unable to find anyone with expertise in  adult ADHD in their vicinity.

These consultations are appropriate for individuals seeking an initial assessment of possible ADHD or for a second opinion if you feel that you (or your child) have ADHD related issues that have not been addressed to your satisfaction. They are also appropriate to address specific concerns such as treatment recommendations, school recommendations and employment issues.

Where

Consultations take place at my home office in Annapolis, MD. Upon scheduling a consultation is scheduled , you will receive the address and directions to my home office.

Fees

A standard two-hour consultation is $500 ($250 per hour). Any additional time spent reviewing records, consulting by phone with other professionals, or writing a consultation summary will be charged, in addition to the consultation fee, at my usual rate.

Clear consultation goal

A consultation will be most fruitful if you are clear about your goals for the consultation. If there are a number of different concerns, we may need to schedule a follow-up consultation to address all of your issues.

How long should you schedule for a consultation

If testing is to be done as part of your consultation, you will need stay a minimum of 3 days.  Test results are not immediately available. A follow-up feedback session will be scheduled by phone after your tests have been scored and interpreted and your report has been completed.

Records review  (academic, employment, medical and psychological records)

I encourage you to send me records to review in advance of our consultation. Charges for records review are in addition to the consultation charge and are billed at my usual hourly rate. A records review in advance of our consultation will make our consultation more fruitful and most likely less-costly. Often, when few or no records have been made available, it is necessary to gather more information during the consultation, resulting in the need to schedule more consultation time.

Testing

Neuropsychological testing or psychoeducational testing are not a part of a standard consultation. In the event that I recommend testing, testing fees are separate and in addition to consultation charges. Testing will be conducted by one of the several psychologists that works with my in the main clinic in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Follow-up

Many clients that come for a consultation desire to work with me to receive continued support and guidance as they follow through on the recommendations that I have made. I will work to help you find resources in your area, if available. In many cases, I continue to work with clients by phone after the initial consultation.
